  • Activision, Ubisoft, and EA, all multibillion game dev company, said they’ll be using generative AI to make their game, so no, it’s not really obvious. It’s also mentioned in the article

Nintendo’s stance differs from that of other gaming giants. Earlier this year, Ubisoft introduced Project Neural Nexus NEO NPCs, which uses generative AI to simulate in-game conversations and interactions with NPCs.

Similarly, Square Enix President Takashi Kiryu views generative AI as a business opportunity to create new content using cutting-edge technologies. Electronic Arts (EA) has also embraced generative AI, with CEO Andrew Wilson predicting that over half of EA’s development processes will benefit from advancements in generative AI.

The investor probably heard it’s a trendy thing that can make better profit, so they asked nintendo about it in the briefing.

  • I didn’t have this issue with my 4 cat when i do that, i usually have them belly up on my lap, head facing me, and i trim it that way so their paw won’t be in an awkward possition. They will try to get away, but i’ll just grab them back and give em some head scritches to quiet them down. I sometime will grab their paw when giving them pat and ask “lets check your nail. can i trim this?” and then trim it. Usually they let me trim one or two before getting annoyed.

I did it like this on my sister’s cat as well, works just fine.

  • It wasn’t even the pirate that’s get attacked, it’s an indirect attack on Webhard, a cloud storage system provider that utilise BitTorrent. The ISP attack Webhard users by injecting malware to both disable Webhard software and mess up the user’s file, some even had their PC disabled probably due to messed up C drive. Some individuals is being charged but to think ISP will use such tactic just because their paying customer used up the bandwidth they provided, the only sensible choice is like you said, drop the damn thing if possible.

  • If you’re talking about Game-Added Marker, that’s only applicable if the game have that feature implemented in. Otherwise, i seriously not sure why someone will freaked out by this, they can just, idk, turn it off like normal people. It’s not like an invasive OS feature that even if turned off, the feeling of it still watching you are there. Whether this feature from Steam will send metadata back to Valve still remain to be seen, as people will take a dig on the network side of this after release, but so far it doesn’t indicate it will.

Besides, Nvidia Experience also have the exact feature implemented, it’s called Nvidia Highlight, where dev can set when and where Nvidia should take a clip of your game. No out is being freaked.

  • I mean, if it’s methane but using another process to create it, it’s still methane, a very potent greenhouse gas, that’s so far hard to regulate and very easily leak unnoticed. It’s “better” than obtaining from oil, but still, it’s methane.

[insert methane is methane meme here]
