  • An important detail is that advanced western weapons are restricted to operations near our within the recognized borders if Ukraine. The arsenals, refineries, factories, and other strategic targets inside actual Russian territory have been hit with Ukrainian weapons. Most are relatively low payload drones, with some targets being serviced by Neptune land attack variants, which is definitely more advanced than anything in the Iranian arsenal for example. But I think the point stands that relatively cheap and simple systems have provided outsized results in the Ukrainian conflict.

The reason there are warning signs for Israel is because of the sheer economy of drone bombing. When Iran launched over a hundred drones, and only three hit, the media had a chuckle. I’m sure the IDF and the American planners supporting them looked very nervously at the estimated 2.4 billion USD worth of ordinance deployed during the defence. Why do you think Ukraine and Russia are building cheap drones to kill other cheap drones. It’ll be interesting to watch.

  • As others mentioned, this isn’t America. Also, fraudulent calls to emergency services is a criminal offense, people who do this are usually charged and fined, or even given jail time. It’s not like it’s accepted or mainstream behavior, people just do stupid things and when combined with stupid cops it has led to tragic outcomes. In this video they seem to show up, which they HAVE to do, place the occupant in precautionary detainment, verify there is no crime underway, and release him. They would probably then take a statement, then the next thing would be to get a warrant for the call records and charge the dipshit that started the incident.

  • I have Nvidia, the actual experience of driver updating and installation on Nobara was seamless, it just has a setup tool that detects the card and downloads the drivers. The same was true for other peripherals, my razer keyboard and mouse were easy to setup, there was a tool for my XBOX controller.

The recommendation to get AMD is reasonable for new builds, but it’s also one of those little issues. I’m just not willing to give up my 4080 for a less capable piece of hardware. But again, I didn’t have any real issues, even VRR and dual monitors worked fine. Ray tracing was working in Steam games, but I couldn’t figure out how to get it running for my GOG games and whatnot. Like I said, it’s so close to being ready for daily driving, but not my personal use case.

  • I spent a few months last year running Nobara. I’m back on Windows unfortunately. There are a ton of games that ran just fine, but there’s also a lot of little issues. For example, in Grim Dawn I couldn’t type in chat, in Pathfinder WotR I simply couldn’t get mods to work, STALKER Anomaly simply wouldn’t load. Then there was the big issue of my mouse cursor dropping below full screen games. Still there, but not visible. The only fix I could use was to restart the computer.

It’s tantalizingly close to ready, and if you don’t care about modding it probably already is. For me it just didn’t work out, yet.

  • This is a little bit silly, that pretty clearly was a mistake, it also led to new ROE regarding the safety cordon around approved targets. Additionally Serbia was a combatant nation, that’s why embassies often evacuate nations involved in hostilities. Israel routinely attacks 3rd country targets, they struck with multiple weapons. Syria and Iraq are not parties to the current situation in Gaza. The idea that countries with governments or general population that are not in favour of the IDF massacre of civilians means almost every country is “involved” according to Israeli targeting doctrine.

  • There’s video of a destroyed patriot launcher as well. No point blaming the new command staff. The freeze on munitions by the republican party in the US has meant rationed fire by the UAF. Their casualties have climbed, and they have been steadily forced back. They are forced to push critical equipment forward to prevent the steady retreat from becoming a break in the line.

Whether consciously or not the US Congress has given the Russian war effort a much needed boost. Artillery is the jab of the battlefield, once the ammunition runs out it’s all eye gouging and knees to the groin. Losses are inevitable.
