  • Well, I do believe twitter makes people less intelligent^* which lead to Americans electing Trump (twice even), which eventually impacts me somewhere down the line.

^* Because the focus on short sentence and the engagement algorithms favours highly polarised angry one liners that trigger primal emotion and is a successful assassination of any intelligent discourse.

And I say that having seen the progressive brain rot of my parents after they retired and started doomscrolling on twitter and being bombarded by more and more extreme messages, until it became a constant stream that can be summarised roughly by “brown people = bad”.

  • I mean for a hobby project that no one cares about sure. Otherwise the whole CI/CD process was invented exactly to avoid having devs push untested and untrackable crap on production servers. So once there are more than two people in a team and paying customers with access to a lawyer that’s going to be a hard pass.

Anyway the main reason your CI/CD are slow is that you’re using $5 workers with 1Gb ram. There’s a reason the build is faster on your 12 core/64Gb laptop, the issue is usually not the process, the issue is being cheap on the infrastructure. The only good thing about GitHub CI workers is that they are cheap but performance wise they are garbage.

  • Apple intelligence is their own project, with their own models. They bought a company specialized in AI at the edge (or on device). All the “AI” that will interact with user’s data is Apple’s.

Still waiting to see what the chat-gpt integration is exactly, but the more I read about it the more it seems it just the usual writing assistant that we will soon find in every text and image editor. And the hint that they will offer Gemini or other model as well really mean they haven’t tied any real features to it.
