Will talk about Linux, plants, space, retro games, and anything else I find interesting.
My wife just checked. Its now showing some pretty heinous things on the demo crat side…I dont think prior to the election that would have been tolerated. They definitely changed the “algorithm”.
It would be better to have mods elected by the community after a certain amount of time. Like leave it up to the users or the main site admin. Might also lead to less mod burn out too.
Some communities are choosing to go to world kinda recently.
Personally kinda a nothing burger to me but its strange to move when the community which is solidified on one instance. Its fine to have multiple communities in multiple places…
World is the most vanilla of the servers in my experience.
I’ll give it a shot thanks!
Surreal watching the rest of the internet freaking out. Meanwhile we are just sitting here on our own platforms doing our own things.
The fediverse allows us to do both. Some instances will go one way, others will go the other. Each can have what they want. And both can communicate if they do wish.
You can. Your instance just needs to up the max size or turn it on.
Example from someone who only has one video as the sample content. https://pixelfed.social/p/Sarahschannel/785335877987047968
I like my rtlsdr. It’s great and super cheap.
Then you switch to someone else. Also its not just about talking. You can track a number of things: sensor readings, track satellites, airplanes, boats, etc…
To answer you seriously, yeah kinda! It’s a way of communicating without any internet access. You can talk with people around the world if you want. And it opens up to a whole community of people that really like the hobby.
Nope that’s what the web interface is for.
But an rtlsdr is pretty cheap if you want to go that route. I do satellite tracking with satnogs and it’s fun.
It’s silly they don’t just delete it instead they make you wait…
It was :(
My pi 4 is right on the cusp. 3 B+ was the best when it came to no dongles and power. Now its taking about the same power as a mini PC and you have to by the enclosure, fans/heatsink/dongles/etc…etc… I suppose you can still buy the old pis but man I miss when that was the form factor they were going for.
I bring over my 3/4 for hacking projects all the time. But I cant justify the 5 without looking at getting a mini pc for 10$ more and it comes with a hard drive ment to last longer than an SD.
meh its no longer growing.
For sure, just give me a nudge as I may forget to come back haha. I’ll try it out tonight if I get a chance.
I’ll give it a shot.
I tried something similar a year or so ago with my own script. What I found was, the longer the book, the harder the ai has on having the same voice.
I eventually got around this limitation by using piper. https://github.com/rhasspy/piper
It was good enough for my purposes. But it definitely sounded mechanical.
Its so simple for end users it sure can do a lot.
I have a meshtastic script that runs once a day that sends a weather report for our local area at 6:00 am. It was based off a script that some awesome person did. I also have a script that once a week sends out ham/meshtastic events to all local people. Its worked out pretty well.
YouTube is now showing nothing but (tr)ump stuff…I have not looked at dump stuff on YouTube. It’s all positive on him too.
