It can be. I often find it “bursty.” I’ve had months at a time when I had stand-ups and then “do whatever you want” for the rest of the day. I generally did do useful work, but there were plently of days when I was just chilling out.

It juat depends. If some org treats you as disposable, pays like shit and lights your hair on fire as you walk in, y’all should walk back out. If youre just using it as a media center computer go with libreelec, which is an OS that boots directly into kodi. The intergration is deep and excellent.

$300 is a really difficult price point for what youre asking for new. At the price, youre in the chromebook range, where even the windows machines are going to be as barebones as possible.

You want to step into the used market if you want customizable for $300. Getting something good thats a few years old like an lenovo carbon x1 looks possible, and they are a dream to update. The above supports linux with no issues.

Libreelec is a great htpc, meant to give you that same “10ft computing” experience as any other media center. Its requirements for 1080p aren’t that intense, as it runs well on a raspi 4/5. They do recommend keeping the resolution set to 1080p in kodi and letting your tv upscale to 4k if youre playing 4k content, so that is a good metric to target.

You can run it as a VM, but running 3 off the same machine loses a lot of the “media center that controls one tv” utility, unless you have 3 hdmi ports on that computer that are wired to those 3 TV and can pass through 3 IR blasters or bluetooth connections for physical remotes. If you can, it should work fine.

If you are routing IR blasters, flirc has a USB blaster and a remote called the Skip that should work out. Ive used the usb blaster with kodi and it integrated seamlessly, but haven’t used the remote yet.

So you could get 3 of the remotes, 3 usb IR blastere and whether length of usb cable you need for each to connect to the host and pass those through to the VMs.

If she could not find a target, she should not have shot the gun. Even suppressing fire requires knowing in general what youre shooting at. Cops doesnt even break the top 20 for the most dangerous jobs in the US. Pizza delivery is more dangerous, and they dont get guns/vests/tanks/training/SWAT/etc. They also sure as fuck dont get the pension or huge OT pay, and abikty to break laws without consequence.

Most cops dont even fire their gun in their career. This guy fired it at a suspect fully in his care, that he had searched, handcuffed and put in a locked cage in the car. He didn’t fire it once, he fired it at him a dozen times, and convinced his partner to do the same. They both shot at a man in their care and custody dozens of times because of a tree nut.

Then his partner mag dumped into the same cruiser as well when nutbag kept insisting he was hit.

The partner at least asked “where where!?” a few times, but she still just empted a magazine into the same car a handcuffed, unarmed suspect was locked up in.

Like most complex things in life, if you devout time to it and engage with it deeply you gain an advantage over a simplier version of the same thing. The question we all have to ask ourselves is “is this worth it?”

Simple, clean, gets it done for near anyone.

Inate complexity that keeps moving as they introduce things like flakes.

Its a declarative configuration management system as package manager. Thats a lot more to handle off the bat than normal linux + flatpak.
