Many countries would consider companies that are created like this just to “get around” a rule or law to be the same company. They consider the “spirit of the law”, and sometimes even give fines for attempting to skirt it like this.

South Korea is literally a US military base disguised as a country. It was a fascist dictatorship for decades, and afterwards it has been ruled by an oligarchy. And it’s 100% lockstep with the US.

Germany also has a shit ton of US military bases. But it’s not as peripheral as SK.
