Summary

Nearly 100 former national security officials expressed alarm over Trump’s nomination of Tulsi Gabbard as director of national intelligence due to her past alignment with Russian and Syrian officials and lack of experience.

In a letter, they urged Senate committees to hold closed-door hearings to assess her qualifications and review any government-held information about her.

Critics highlighted her controversial 2017 trip to Syria to meet Bashar al-Assad and her questioning of U.S. intelligence.

Gabbard’s spokesperson dismissed the criticism as partisan attacks, while the Senate confirmation process is expected to be contentious.

I’ve been hoping for a war between the MAGoos and the old guard RNC for almost a decade.

You just know the Democrat leadership would try to pander to and gobble up the “old-school burn-the-world conservative” vote instead of capitalizing on their split from the batshit wing.

The Left had two chances to get Bernie Sanders nominated. In 2020 he did better in the caucus states [where the DNC would be able to exert more control of the outcome]. The Left failed both times. Maybe we should stop looking at the Dems and get our act together. FYI I contributed to Bernie both cycles.

I was born in a country that is afflicted with very much the same disease. Some might say we were patient zero. Yes, it is Hungary.

The hope that something might be better at some point only came after we finally could get our Dem-equivalents out of the picture and well below the parliament threshold.
