Public transport is shit where I live. If I want to go and visit my grandma, it’s a 20 minute drive, 15 on a good traffic day.

If I want to use public transport, its a 45 minute walk to the nearest train station, then a 30 minute train journey, then a 40 minute walk to grandma’s.

  • Bitwarden is excellent but i have a few nitpicks on Android.

I wish I could change the “Username” field to “Email address” because it kind of annoys me having email addresses under usernames. I’d also like to add things to favourites or folders without having to go into edit mode on every entry individually. Same with adding notes. The app has trouble following the system theme and doesn’t always autofill reliably for me, meaning I sometimes have to go into the app and copy/paste my passwords manually.

Other than that, the UI is just a bit ugly compared to some other password managers,

I got rejected just last week for something pretty inexpensive that I can afford to pay off in installments. My credit score is good and I’ve never defaulted on any payments before. I live in the UK, not in China.

AFAIK the social credit system that westerners like to mock was only trialled and never implemented. I, on the other hand, have actually been screwed over by my own country’s credit score system.

  • The tankies that they keep complaining about are just your traditional Marxist-Leninists saying Marxist-Leninist things.

I think some Lemmy users like the image of being communist without actually subscribing to orthodox communist viewpoints. Just accept that you’re not one, there’s no shame in it.

  • NATO doesn’t have an answer to the Russian invasion. They know they can’t go in themselves and directly fight Russians, and they know they can’t support Ukraine with billions indefinitely.

Everyone says that giving up Ukrainian territory is absolutely out of the question, but that’s what has already happened. Crimea hasn’t been Ukrainian territory for 10 years now. International recognition doesn’t count for much when the reality on the ground is that the Russians control the region.

I genuinely don’t see any outcome where Ukraine gets its territory back.
