I guess the reason they won’t is to avoid the “there’s 5 different left parties” meme moment.

Except the teapot. The teapot is highly valuable.
Computer programmers are the wizards of the present.

bottom dom sounds interesting 🤔
Well, if you have asymmetric cables, there’s always one clearly-defined host and the other one is the slave.
it works like sex: with usb-c, both devices more or less kinda have ti “negotiate” who’s dom and who’s sub. that takes extra negotiation effort and makes the protocol more complicated. and therefore more expensive imo.
What I’m also thinking is the following:
There maybe was a 40-hour work week in 1965, idk.
Now in 2024 we still have a 40-hour work week.
But in 1965, only men worked. Now in 2024, men and women work. Work hours per week have effectively doubled.
Ja, ist ja immer noch relevant. :-)
I don’t like being cynical like this, but:
Putin’s war really did something for the climate.
That’s a good thing imo. We do this so we can build up an industry for these things at home.
Unfortunately, most countries haven’t really done much to invest into the production of solar cells in their home country in the last twenty years (Germany is a noteworthy exception), so why would they start now?
Realistically, imposing tariffs on chinese PV cells will only slow the energy transition, instead of building up domestic production.
The easiest thing would be to mount a remote network storage as a local directory. This way you can easily access it to read and write through normal software.
I support this proposal.
